Where would you move to if you worked remotely? What place has the best ratio of following: 1. Good schools / family friendly 2. Good IT job market 3. Weather / nature Didn't list Chicago since it's too cold and NY since it's too big.
Weather/nature....people choose Austin?
Ever been to the austin hill country? No its not a mountainous backdrop but its not ugly either. And its just hot in the summer, but not as bad as Houston or Dallas. Pretty tame compared to it.
Austin summers are not tame at all.

San Diego 🥰
Would love to be there
I like it as well but is it hard to find a dev job there (in case you have to)? I know there are no FAANG companies but what about start-ups?
If you're working remotely and earning Bay area/Seattle dollars, move to the area with the cheapest cost of living. Your money will go a long way. You can invest in commercial or residential real estate, and eventually retire early.
If you want to live in a neighborhood with good schools it won't be cheap anyway, right? What places can you recommend?
You're right. My point is a home in a good neighborhood with good schools in Phoenix 400-600k. In the bay area is 2M? Places I'm considering moving to after a few years in Seattle: Arizona and New Mexico are at the top of my list.
Europe
Great list, my brain went “oh, nice” after each one :D
Atlanta
LA. Easy for me
Are you working for Amazon at LA?

The answer is never commiefornia. For poll purposes: austin or seattle.
