Just curious if there was a layoff, who would go first? PMs, SDMs or SDEs? I've heard that mid-management is usually the one who will be let go before SDEs. Is that true? I feel like one SDE has like 5 different managers. It's quite ridiculous. #amazon #layoff
The first to go will be the few teams at Amazon with good wlb. If you’re working 40 hrs at Amazon you should be sweating
It's not about job title it's about org. PXT (HR) is going to get halved because Amazon doesn't give a shit about that stuff when push comes to shove (and it's a bloated shit org) Aka internal support orgs that don't generate revenue
Footsoldiers go first - that’s the ICs. Once the Org has been downsized enough then Re-Org and sideline some of the managers but until then the managers are needed to keep cranking the handle of the PIP Factory grinder.
Alexa shopping probably needs to be leaner.

Recruiters. Watch for that canary in a coal mine. Anyone who was on someone’s shit list is right after that. Then maybe some logic may apply for the rest…
This is the right answer.
Most of the recruiters are L99. No one will notice
