If you hate one company, stop using their product.
Hit them where it pains the most. Even if pulling your wallet out doesn't make a dent, do it! Hate amazon pipping you? Use walmart. Can't find competitor? Make one. I just want to say that you have some power no matter how small that may be. Thanks. #tech
This is a great advice actually. Recently I've decided not to give my business to any entity that has treated me poorly, or has provided bad service. I've noticed how many better alternatives are out there. Simple examples: Google instead of Samsung, Sutter Health instead of a shitty healthcare provider our company advertises, independent mechanic instead of auto chains, etc

One more thing I'd like to add is that if you cannot start a competitor then talk about your needs that you are willing to pay for the thing you need. Someone who is capable might do something for that problem.
The issue with this advice is that it won't be that effective unless people do it at scale, and we're more divided than it seems
