Hello all, I am looking for guidance on evaluating an offer from Illumina, Bay Area . They are firm on base, Does this look comparable or can RSUs go higher? Here’s the offer: Position: Sr Engineer (not software) Base: $130k RSU: 40k Annual bonus: 8% Current TC: $96k YOE: 5 (Biomedical engineering) Thanks in advance.#health #healthcare
If this in quality, then the base seems good enough salary, not comparable to other companies in bay area though. The only wiggle room could be base, but if they are firm on that, then it's tough. I'd ask for joining bonus if you can, but RSU and annual bonus is fixed on a position level
What engineering dept?
I think you can squeeze out 10k more in RSU
Try for a higher bonus, maybe 10%
People, culture are great. This TC looks good to me plus the senior title. It can't compare to the big tech company.

This looks normal. I would try to go higher on RSUs, it doesn’t hurt. The company is pretty solid with the annual bonus along with merit increases and annual equity grants. It’s not as competitive an offer as some other companies, but the culture and people are great.
