I work on the website where Microsoft employees who are in office can order food. I am done making Dining menu buttons and positioning thumbnails of pasta and Coke Zero in the perfect position. I can't even leave this job in this economy. Any tips?
Wow you are really doing something impactful. But those MSFT engineers have to pay for food right 💀
Step 1: Make the button 10% bigger and run an AB test Step 2: Update your resume and apply for data scientist jobs
Step 3: Realise SWE pays more than DS and Leetcode.
You could sub contract the work just be sure it clean up comments.
Stop requiring satisfaction from the work you do. Treat it like a job where you do work and get money in exchange. You don't have to enjoy doing your work. And when the economy is better, as switch.
This is UX designer in your resume.
You are disgusting.
I'm just imagining your director trying to give you all a pep talk like "the buttons you are placing are literally changing lives. You're not just helping people order food, you're giving them hope in a broken world"
Why don't you change teams?
Ok what would you prefer? They fire you because you have no tasks?
TC?
