I got the headset. I played eleven table tennis. It was amazing, very close to real life. No need to chase the ball down. No need to worry about the ball Getting flat. Played with my friends, and it was just like when we play irl. Sure there's some things that need improvement. Sure it needs to appeal to more people. But guess what, Zucks is throwing $10b a year to figure all that out. The potential is there, and it's truly inspiring to think of the possibilities. Positions: 1. Going to sell all my aapl(~100k) and throw it into META tomorrow morning. Would put more But idk how long it's gonna take to work out so I wanna have some money left for the short term. This is a 10 year hold minimum. 2. Going to learn how to make VR apps and games. Good luck to you all! See you in the metaverse 😀 I'm pumped 3 YOE 210 #meta #metaverse #getrich

Thank you AAPL and NVDA
I also played that and had the same reaction!! I love it! Now, I've been playing ibCricket and that's amazing too!!
Never played cricket but I'll check it out. Tremendous piece of technology
I am addicted to ib cricket. It's too good and very close to irl cricket if you attach controller to bat
Buy insurance for your eyes as well. Might come in handy otherwise you won’t be able to read even a single verse of a song
This
Vr doesn't hurt your eyes, the metaverse isn't vr, and finally your health insurance does include "eye" insurance. Congratulations on the most wrong comment today haha
Don’t throw all 100k in one go. Spread over months as metaverse is still brewing.
Good point.
I'll think about how to deploy, META has taken a beating recently
Are you kidding? It is not clear what the point of metaverse yet is. Apart from games and virtual meets, it's unclear why you would use it on a daily basis. I'm not saying there won't be any value in the future, but it's not clear what the value is as of today
Entertainment isn't enough? Fitness? That alone is massive
Heh they used to talk about smart phones the same way. It would be a paradigm shift if it catches on, who knows how it will pan out.
No one's strapping a stupid VR headset on their face for multiple hours a day (outside of gamers and niche enthusiasts). It's just not happening. We couldn't even get people to put on glasses for 3D TV, what makes people think putting on a sweaty set of heavy goggles for any appreciable amount of time is ever going to break into the mainstream? VR and Metaverse is all dead end crap. Zuck's desperate for the "next big thing" now that Apple's destroyed their ads business. Literally nothing Facebook's tried has taken off that they didn't just buy. Zuck has no vision and will drive Meta into the ground.
Right… It’s luxury and not a necessity
Most of entertainment is a luxury, it's still a massive business. Entertainment. Gaming. Fitness. So much potential
I find it interesting that you prefer virtual table tennis over real table tennis. I prefer doing things in real life because I want to feel what I’m doing.
I didn't say I have a preference, I'm saying it was a great experience. I wouldn't have believed it without trying it. I'm not saying it's there yet, but there's definitely a lot of potential
I'm guessing dude doesn't have a real ping pong table sitting in his living room.
Whut
It is a very small domain. I use my oculus to play eleven. It is awesome but anything else is just garbage. I think VR works only when the movements in the game and in reality match. Table tennis is one of those things where that requirement fits perfectly. You deciding the future of meta verse based on one game is silly
It showed me the potential, and I'm betting on it.
Okay
No one is going to strap a facehugger VR headset for hours a day. And even if vr becomes a thing, what makes you think Meta will be the winner there? After Facebook, they've only bought companies or copied ideas. Not seen any successful innovation ever from them.
Ok dude. They're the only ones investing big in the space atm
Its not just the headset I dunno if its in the news so I cant really say
I hope you’re right!
It's honestly one of the only exciting things with massive growth potential atm
I believe the odds are in its favor
