I graduated college in 2016. The first few years after I started working full time, my mom managed all my investments for me. She bought mostly MSFT, AAPL, and Vanguard ETFs. Thanks to her, my portfolio had massive gains. In early 2020, I became interested in investing and decided to take over from my mom. She warned me that I should continue playing it safe, but I didn’t listen. I sold a bunch of my MSFT and AAPL shares and bought into these loser stocks over the course of the past 1.5 years: PLTR (cost basis $22.50) FSLY ($50) ARKK ($147 — this one really hurts) SNAP ($53) SFT ($6.33) CRWD ($260) I admittedly made some gains from other stocks. But if I had just left my portfolio alone and let my mom continue to manage it, I’d be substantially richer. I’m sorry, Mom. You knew best after all. #personalfinance #investments #Stocks #Palantir #Snap #Fastly
Lucky you!
Lmao
Better to learn it now
Can your mom manage my portfolio?
My mom told me to buy 5 shares of Amazon with the internship money I made in 2017. To this day, I regret not doing this. I would have tripled my input!
