When I first heard about this I thought they were trolling.. but it's real, straight from the Twilio CEO himself: "Layoffs like this can have a more pronounced impact on marginalized communities, so we were particularly focused on ensuring our layoffs – while a business necessity today – were carried out through an Anti-Racist/Anti-Oppression lens." https://www.twilio.com/blog/a-message-from-twilio-ceo-jeff-lawson
Sorry, all that the message reads was that they made sure they didn’t particularly target minorities for the layoff. Not being racist isn’t a code for being racist against Caucasians.
Smh
You can look at the data, or you can be in your feelings. CEO looked at the data and made a policy to achieve an equitable outcome.
So racial quotas in layoffs?
What does it mean equitable? Bring racially discriminatory is equitable?
Sweet severance package, not gonna lie
Yeah, it means if you are Indian, not gay, you better update your resume.
Can’t forget the dreaded white males and all of their privileges
Next, Twilio to appoint CEO from marginalized community.
“Dear Twilions” sure is setting the tone for a layoff isn’t it
Just so we’re clear “anti-racist” doesn’t mean anti-white, or anti-Asian.
Anti racist is always anti white. Blind is anti white
Blind is full of right wing bellends who are constantly whinging about their victim status
Yeah what Microsoft said. Seconded.

What happens when most of your team is Indian?
lol just that single statement by the CEO doesn’t prove your original hypothesis. Give more datapoints or begone
You can’t read between the lines? It means they prioritized laying off white people over another certain race whom I shall not name.
No, it means they didn’t focus layoffs on parts of the company that disproportionately impact underrepresented employees.
