Immigration lawyer asking for payslips

Would it be ok if I submit them with numbers redacted?

Amazon Amz Jul 8, 2019

Why would you do that? Are you trying to hide your salary?

Uber domin8 Jul 8, 2019

If the immigration lawyer will use it for getting you visa, you might be charged for purgery. This is a crime with jail time.

Apple Marijuana Jul 8, 2019

This isn't true. Falsifying the numbers materially would be perjury, but blacking them out wouldn't be.

Uber domin8 Jul 8, 2019

Backing? That's sure case to get rejected. It's easier to simply not submit anything.

Never lie to immigration, they can rescind your status anytime if they figured the fraud

Adobe rooster⛏ OP Jul 8, 2019

These are immigration lawyers, not USCIS

Apple Marijuana Jul 8, 2019

AFAIK it's fairly standard practice to submit payslips (as an indicator of being employed during previous periods) to the government, in support of an application to change/extend status or change employer. Blacking out the numbers will just be weird, your employer's lawyer will likely ask for unredacted versions to submit to the government.

Amazon Doby2468 Jul 8, 2019

Don’t worry about hurting your lawyers’ feelings. They make a good salary too.

Apple Marijuana Jul 8, 2019

+9000

Adobe rooster⛏ OP Jul 8, 2019

Lol, i am probably too ashamed to disclose my salary to anyone except Blind.

Amazon pridemonth Jul 8, 2019

I think OPs Intent is if the lawyer shares it with the new company - say you had added 10% 15% to the salary to the HR to negotiate better

Amazon Doby2468 Jul 8, 2019

Ahh.... now I see where this is coming from...

Adobe rooster⛏ OP Jul 8, 2019

Isnt it unlawful in CA if the employer/ HR gets their hands on the payslips
