Docker just started to have a decent design team. I'm an engineer just to be clear. Designers who were actually helping UI have left or are removed. Some designers are high as a kite. The 20yr old Indian kid who was managing them quit. Free fall as someone else here said. How can engineering help support a dying UX team? We had design consultants before and they sucked.
I know it's difficult but docker needs to get more reliable and performant on non Linux.
Help find design talent who can work with you/your engineering team. Work to establish a long term design/feature vision, with short-term enhancements. If you want, I’m happy to consult (outside of my fte spot). I’ve been designing for 15+ years.
Define dying. Is it the case that there are no designers left? Or last few designers don’t know their job/don’t feel empowered to do ‘design’ and are mere puppets throwing mockups against a wall on the tunes of product management? Designers can be revived (from the dead) by giving them tools to make a difference to the product. Engineering can create bridges by inviting them to Eng reviews, and breaking down and simplifying things for them. Giving feedback based on what will work or not work for engineering sarah on will help designers not go on obscure paths with their design, instill confidence in their craft, and help them spend less cycles creating designs (in software) and more time actually understand the product and designing for function and not just form. Engineering can help with empowering them with having them present to engineering; sharing feedback in an user centered manner; and collaborating — basically engineers also caring for user experience of the product.
I didn’t know Docker had designers I thought their pants have looked the same for the past few decades

No UX team = no problems. Wait until the last one of them quit/removed. Next question!
And you work where?
