I remember in the last few years we saw great TC offer from unicorns like Uber/Lyft, mostly from large RSU grants. Then after IPO it lost half the value. In the meantime Amazon and Microsoft stock value has shot up year after year. So in hindsight and taking into account stock price movements, did both group of employees get the same TC (approximately)?
If I recall, the pre-IPO price Lyft was quoting a year before it went public was ~$45/share which is basically where it is now so it certainly hasn’t gone down for the people who joined in the past couple years.
Amazon Microsoft definitely made more
Not Amazon , stock still the same as it was 2 years back
Absolutely not. I tripled my total comp after the stock fall. If not would have retired.
My TC at MSFT would have averaged about $225k over the past 3 years. Instead my TC averaged $650k. So no regrets even with the sad stock performance.
Question has lot of factually wrong facts ... do you follow the stock market ?
He does not follow markets
Lyft probably triple last 3 years? Uber went down instead
My TC is still more than what MSFT/amazon offer for my level, even after stock fall.
How could anyone even answer this there are so many variables at play...?
