Incogneto Data Scientists and Data Engineers

Any one here currently fulfilling Data Science or data engineering roles without the formal title in their current position? Or, any that were and have since moved for the correct title at another company? What were you titled and how did you transition? We do not have a team that serves this function so I feel like I am potentially taking a pay hit, losing out on a lot of professional development from having peers and losing long term prospects.
