My boyfriend's kid is graduating college next year - BS Accounting. He did a summer internship with KMPG and got an offer for an associate role in the SF office. TC: none yet, graduating next year Offer: $75k starting + $7500 sign on bonus Does that sound reasonable to y'all? Is it worth negotiating? (I suspect not since consulting firms tend to all be same, but thought to ask). Thanks! #finance #consulting #kmpg #big4 #accounting
Isn't all accounting BS, tho? ;-)
Maybe.... idk :-)
Do you know what practice? This is a much better offer than an offer I received in advisory ~2 years ago
It's advisory practice, but some niche part of it... not 100% sure.
Unfortunately, that’s where they start people at KPMG. I know PWC and Deloitte pay more though.
Ah interesting! He only looked at KPMG, EY and Deloitte. EY didn't work out with summer dates of events and internships, but Deloitte offer was $69k with a higher sign on bonus, which didn't seem reasonable in the long term...
If he’s an accounting major, he could look at deal advisory / M&A which tends to pay more. There’s definitely a need for more people on those teams.
Its good salary
Ain’t no way to negotiate for campus recruit
As others have said, fat chance negotiating as a campus hire. $75k is pretty solid for what campus hires make, i can imagine he will get much more.
