Increasing credit score
How does one improve ones credit score? I'm stuck between 740 and 770
Increase your credit limit. This will decrease your credit utilization.
Get a few more cards but dont use all fully
Don’t get any more cards if you are taking out a mortgage in 6 months. New accounts and credit inquiries will hurt your score a lot. Just pay off your balances before statements post and avoid all credit inquiries for the next 6 months.
Yea, I'm not planning to get any more cards. Paying off credit card bills early sounds an interesting option. I do have auto pay, but I'm guessing what you mention is a bit more preemptive.
Paying early..Makes a huge difference you will cross 785+
Get Capital One’s Credit Wise app. It lets you monitor your credit score and gives you recommendations to improve it. It also lets you run simulations to see how certain actions could impact your score for better or worse and by how much.
There are multiple things that contribute, sign up for credit karma to see what goes into it and what you can do to increase your score
Why would you need a higher score? Unless your score is very low, credit scores are just a marketing ploy for cc companies. Banks mostly look at debt to income ratio, and obviously with your score you probably don’t have a lot of bad marks.
