Very cool company. They are a startup but got lots of money and they take care of their employees. Their CEO is just awesome. Benefits are decent. Free health and dental if you are single (PPO and other options). No 401K matching yet, free lunch and well stocked kitchen. They also offer relocation assistant. Regarding pay and team, it really really depends on the team you are joining. Which team is this for? Good luck.
If you are interviewing for a hot team and do really well in the interviews and have 5-6+ experience, you can easily get 170-180. I have heard of some people breaking the 200K salary for senior staff but you really really have to know your shit.
So I’ve worked at NIO for about 2 yrs. They offer very competitive compensation package for the Bay Area, based on the candidates experience and skills...RE: Benefits it’s competitive + includes 100% company paid employee only medical coverage and 100% dental, vision, life and disability insurance. Time off is -free attendance for vacation, which you take what you need... Think they also offer relo assistance Pretty good overall.
Any idea what is the stock option grant that NIO gives at the Sr Software and Staff software roles ?

Could anyone give an estimate for principal level at Autonomous driving data platform team?
There aren't many principal engineers at the company but I'd say 200k is the bottom end. Not sure how much stock they are offering nowadays but rumor is the stock pool is running low.
I'd say 240Gs..
Pay varies drastically for the same position... negotiate hard with them including relocation. Some of my friends work their and are not happy due to lack of structure in management, and lack of performance rewards.
