I've been considering a move from my current job and I've been seeing a few Infosec opportunities for Disney in Burbank. By reading a lot of the reviews about bad culture and low pay, makes me a bit skeptical. However, I also read that it really depends a lot on the organization (the culture not the low pay, which seems constant across all orgs). Those opportunities also keep lingering on LinkedIn and being reposted with small changes on the job title and description. A few months ago I was in contact with a Disney recruiter which didn't make any effort to understand better what TC I was looking for. When I said values above what they were looking to offer, the recruiter immediately disengaged and didn't even responded to further questions of mine. I like Disney a lot and it would be cool to work for them, but I've been reading a lot of possible red flags. Wondering if I should still be looking to opportunities there or forget about them completely. Any strong opinions about the GIS (Global Information Security) at TWDC? I've also seen some opportunities in Imagineering. Any opinions about that org in comparison with GIS at TWDC? Any other orgs that I should consider for Infosec roles? Current TC: $250k YoE: 15 #disney #disneycompensation #losangeles #securityengineer
Low pay, sure, but I thought Disney culture was one of the selling points to join the company - i.e solid WLB and relaxed coworkers. If you’re coming from Amazon, I would expect Disney to be far more relaxed, but the quality of work, promotion opportunities, and pay won’t be as good
