Recently interviewed with the Tanzu Kubernetes team. Any insight into the culture there? #tech #vmware #broadcom #kubernetes #careers #wlb #companyculture
Sinking ship
It's good ...
VMware is an employee friendly company and focus is on technology. You get ample of opportunities to make significant contributions, again it depends on you.
Culture & WLB is great. You’ll like it. That said, it’s unknown how things will change under Broadcom (assuming the purchase goes through)
Good Business unit/group to be part of. Foot in the door is always good even if you don't end up liking the direct team/product.
Transparency is a problem, there was recent restructuring which meant some uncertainty. Depends on the work as well, if it is just bug fixing and support of released versions or new innovations.
It’s a BU in transition to new leadership. Underperformed massively under Craig, now turning around under Khaled but a long way to go. And don’t forget, Queen Purnima is the new bigger boss and will make some changes.
TKP is probably a better career building spot than any other VMware team, but if you're joining the TKG side of the house it is pretty dysfunctional.
Can I DM you?
Pretty much all said here is right. Difficult random sinking place but the best resume building area you can join. It might turn around now that the k8s folks, ironically, are gone.
K8s is dead my friend. It was good but moving away from aws is not what businesses want
Interesting. Does Mike Tria know that?
