Instagram is what I’ve always thought of as my “dream job”. I’ve heard an internal switch in Meta is easier rather than getting in externally but it’s difficult eitherway. I’d love some insight from anyone that works in Instagram whether to affirm my thoughts or give a reality check. Also would love to hear your general path to Insta Thank you! YOE: 1 TC: 96K

Why doesn't OpenAI offshore and reduce expense by 80%
You can just get hired as a general hire and then pick whatever team you want to work on. That includes instagram in many different areas (iOS, android, web, backend, etc). So to sum it up, very easy as long as you get hired by Meta.
Thanks so much!
It's just another shitty job.
But with more money 😂

Wut It’s super easy to land an IG team from bootcamp if that’s what you’re asking There are many of them begging to fill up their headcount
I’m going to give you some advice, do meaningful work and stay ahead in terms of tech stack, forget about prestigie and “dream companies”.
I'm in Bootcamp right now. I was pretty intent on joining Instagram when I joined. Currently deciding between four different Instagram teams that interest me. I also had the possibility of joining some other Instagram teams that didn't interest me quite as much. So, it's not hard at all. But definitely depends on your role. But, if you're able to join as a Bootcamper - without a pre-allocated team - I wouldn't be too worried.
You can easily join an instagram team after joining the company…
So an internal switch isnt super difficult if you start with a non instagram team?
Most people join the company with no team selected. You have a ~6 week bootcamp training program after which you can pick whichever team you want.
