Seriously, phenomenal copy from Meta. The reels are so creative and entertaining. Are reels the reason for tremendous stock grows last year? I am really curious how much revenue it's generating because I can easily see while world spending many hours per day on reels. Also in modern society, many people are staying single unable to find a partner. I see many people feeling lonely due to that. Also many couples don't want kids to have more free time. So I can easily see more and more people joining the pool and scrolling reels all day.
Not much - they very recently Introduced reels ads formats, so the revenue generated right now is not substantial, but in a year it’ll probably be a huge money driver
I should buy Meta call leaps then.
Well it’s a give and take - their major revenue on insta comes from feed ads. The big question is - does reels give met more viewable inventory, or is it cannibalizing impressions from their feed ad products? The name of the game in ad revenue is: maximize CPM and maximize yield (without degrading user experience). The big test is - can meta introduce more viewable ad inventory that commands a higher CPM while still growing their users daily active time (notice I didn’t say grow their user base… they already have like 2.35 billion MAUs) basically, If they can get each one of those to spend even 2 more minutes on IG per month, you’re looking at like 78 million hours. Gotta figure one minute == 3 impressions, you’re at 14 billion extra impressions. At an average CPM of 8$, that’s an extra 112 million in revenue/month, assuming that those 2 minutes yield an additional 6 impressions per user (as opposed to replacing impressions from other sources)
Still lags behind TikTok
I deleted Instagram. Its a waste of time for exactly the reasons you described. It’s junk food for the brain. It will soon just be trashy people using it the same way it’s only trashy people who eat candy and fat all day and become obese.
Anything can be described as junk then, movie and TV series you watch. I appreciate the acting, creative writing and film making skills of these content creators.
Seriously 99+ percent of Netflix is junk. Scroll through 100 things and you will find 1 or fewer things worth watching. And you will regret the 1 thing you eventually watch
