Visa folks, who got affected by layoffs at Intel. Did Intel gave you additional time since you being on visa and that 60-day clock? H1B/F1 Visa
They announced it in the month of October and I have been seeing Linkedin post for last 1 month and hence asking.
They told they will layoff 20k folks globally … but nothing happened
Go to linkedin and type Intel. I see at least 2-3 post just from this morning from H1B folks.
Intel will give 2 months internal oppty to look around and then your 60 days window starts. So overall you have 4 months to look for job
Is this the policy, or hearsay?
It’s the policy.
I am impacted in intel layoff and considering another offer to take up after H1B transfer which may take 2 week ..so can i still work for both the employer and take salary from both .Since the redeployment period is 2 month I don't want to loose the money getting from intel ..So can some one suggest how we should workout this ?
Push your start date as much as possible and keep collecting your paycheck from intel. I don’t see any problem to be honest because you aren’t doing anything either in the redeployment pool.
Your violating visa rules , please be careful it might come up in your GC application
Agree with Cummins, push your start date. If you can travel, take a vacation while being online at work, you are not expected to much anyway. Might as well take time off and get fresh for the next grind
When did Intel had layoffs recently?
Um they are having huge layoffs like everyone else. It was leaked then announced back in the fall.
That was for 20k folks … I thought it’s done and dusted
