Intel

What level would be appropriate for intel with 25 years of experience after ph.d in communication system design. Also what starting package can I expect. The position is in Santa Clara. Thanks

TI IOlOl0 Dec 13, 2018

What role/title?

Haven’t received offer yet. Expecting it. Need to know what is appropriate

TI IOlOl0 Dec 13, 2018

But you should know what role you’re interviewing for... systems? Design? Test? Quality?

AMD dl4@ Dec 13, 2018

Ph.d new hires with no experience come in at grade 7. In my opinion, PhD and 25 years of experience should come in no lower than grade 10.

Thanks. What can I expect for starting package.

Intel gingerr Dec 13, 2018

By that analogy 30+ year experience directly become CEO ..😆

Intel gingerr Dec 13, 2018

Grade 9 max.

Amazon Dumplin’ Dec 13, 2018

9 is Senior Staff right? I would say 9 min.

Qualcomm Kimjeller Dec 13, 2018

Grade 10 at least. I got grade 8 with 3YOE + Phd.

Intel LastMan Dec 14, 2018

That doesn’t mean anything..

Intel UGeJ58 Dec 17, 2018

I feel that is very appropriate considering a very driven person. One promotion in 3 years after a fresh Phd grad that would come in as grade 7

Intel V6ene Dec 14, 2018

I know of some SWE with PhD+10 YoE who got level 10

Intel LastMan Dec 14, 2018

Right.,

Intel xdCS17 Dec 14, 2018

Grade 9 minimum, $250-$300k TC. Grade 10 preferred but may be harder since it can be a leadership position, $300-$350k TC. Sorry, Intel does not have competitive TC in the Bay Area. You would be at $400k+ at FANG.

Intel MVM007 Jan 16, 2019

FANG?

Intel torchier Nov 7, 2019

FAANG, were you born yesterday?

Intel LastMan Dec 14, 2018

Modem group ??? Thread carefully...😉.. grade 9.. (sr staff) intel doesn’t (99% cases) hire grade 10 from outside..
