Just within two months of joining, Intel has cut down my salary, not only in bonuses but also in base pay and 401K match, resulting in ~20% overall reduction in compensation than what was promised! It feels like being tricked and betrayed by the company!
Why are they paying dividends when they can't pay their employees!!
Shareholders first. If they don’t pay dividend, stock crashes and the whales lose 20% of their stock position, instead of 20% of annual tc
That's such short term thinking, employees leave for greener pastures and the company is done for
What is industry standard for G7?
Grade 7: Fresh PhD hire.
How much was your base before the cut? What was the recent band for G7?
Can they reduce salary? Wouldn’t this be a “breach” of contract or have you been offered new terms to sign and you have to accept or leave ?
Laughs in at-will employment
Yeah in more sane jurisdictions this would be a constructive dismissal and the company would owe severance. Not in most of the US though!
Work 40% less,
And immediately get fired based on performance?!
I would accept that, I do not accept slavering. Work less prepare for next companies
companies don't give a crap about you, they are all evil
I would rather prefer getting laid off
Does Intel ask leetcode for their SWE roles?
I was not asked any LC questions during my interviews
What was it like? Discussion on past projects? Code review? CS fundamentals?

Can’t make everyone happy. Maybe you would have been laid off instead if they didn’t cut comp.
Maybe they should have promised what they are actually capable of paying before hiring.
When were you given the offer ?
