Does anyone know what the fertility benefits coverage is at Intel? Is it within a health plan (Kaiser) or is it separate (i.e. egg freezing) I am looking for more details on egg freezing cost coverage.
It's separate from the normal health plans. You can search internally or ask HR to help with paperworks. Intel supports not only egg freezing but also IVF, cord blood storage. I have used cord blood storage before. Proud Ex-Intel here :)
You can look under circuit healthcare benefits conception assistance. It's basically lifetime max $40k, and $20k for the prescription drug coverage needed for egg freezing. This benefit actually is pretty generous and cover approximately 2 to 3 rounds of egg retrieval....but remember this is just the retrieval part for egg freezing. If I understand correctly, when you eventually thaw and use the eggs, there's additional cost there. So if you used up all $40k for the freezing part, no coverage left for the second part of the procedure. Also, since it's a lifetime maximum, if you move to a different employer who utilizes the same insurance company, I don't think the insurance coverage amt resets. Good luck.
Did you explore more of this option? if we choose kaiser would you still get the 40k and 20K prescription coverage? Thanks,
check to see if intel offers progeny. it's orthogonal to kaiser/ providence, etc. Most tech companies offer it. Not very well advertised
