YOE: 8 Intel current TC @ Santa Clara: G8, base 175K + 16.5% bonus + 90K RSU (4yr) Micron offer @ Boise: E5, base 165K + 15% bonus + 20K sign-on + 90K RSU (4yr) Intel definitely has significant RSU bump this year. But no one can tell if it will sustain. Also, the stock market doesn't like Intel at all. At least in the next 1-2 years, I doubt we can see clear turn-around. But it might be good to buy low. Micron's offer is not so attracting but might be okay as the cost of living is low at Boise. Anyone from Micron and Boise can let me know how this pay is? How about RSU refresh and the base pay increase each year? Do you like Boise or Micron in general? The job itself seems interesting, which is why I am considering it. #intel #micron #semiconductor
Thatās a good offer for L5 in Boise. Iāve seen high performers get big RSU refreshers at yearly reviews. Depends on your team and the work for personal fulfillment, but financially, Iām happy at Micron.
What are your typical work hours? I've heard it can get pretty stressful
Thank you for the input. How is WLB? Also, is L5 the same as E5? Not sure how Micron sets up the levels/titles. The title I got is Principal Eng. But obviously, PE @ Micron is not as precious as PE @ Intel, which is G10. I guess E5 of Micron is somehow in between G8 and G9 of Intel.
Feel free to DM if you plan to negotiate with the recruiters and need some help.
Thanks. It seems that there is not so much room for further negotiation. So you work at Micron?
What role is that?
I would suggest ā buy Lowā
Micron has a better culture than Intel.
Did you finalize?
Did you take the offer?
What is micron E5 pay like? I got E5 from Folsom with base 150K 15% bonus and rsu 80K/4, is this low for micron ? How is micron rsu refresher like? Do they give good amount during hiring and reduce later?

Micron š¤š§. This is a 5-8X stock in next 10 years. You can research about this stock and verify the analysis.
Good point. Micron seems to already have a good run in the last few years. But as memory chips are really commoditized, I would expect that Micron's stock can be quite cyclical. Also, with the rise of memory products from China, not sure will it be concern at some point?
