Junior in college here. 3 months ago, I signed my return offer for a Snap internship. However, I recently (just) got a Google SWE intern offer, and I'm not sure what to do? I'm looking for this internship to convert me into full-time. At both of these companies, I'll be working on projects that I'm super excited about, so projects are not a problem. I'm not sure if I should renege Snap for Google? This is my last internship, and I am unable to move either to fall/spring. I really enjoy the location of my Snap offer. Google offer would be in Mountain View. Should I base this off location? I'm looking to add more value to my resume and a NG offer that can help me get promoted faster. Would trying out a new company on my resume help with this? Should I go with Snap or Google for my last internship? This probably isn't a big deal, but I'd appreciate any advice from you all! #snap #snapchat #google #intern
how was the snap intern experience? I got an offer from them for this summer
It was pretty great overall! I really enjoyed my experience with my team. some cool intern events throughout some weeks. I think the benefits were also great (like free breakfast, lunch, dinner), so I didn't have to worry about food! I interned at amazon before snap, and it was definitely a different vibe since at amazon it may feel like you're very small in a large company but at snap it felt more of the opposite.
Can you take both? I would ask to see if Google internship can be moved to after the snap internship and take a semester off, it would be worth it for you money wise and experience wise and then you'd have double the chances of getting a return offer and being set up once you graduate because you'd have exposure to both teams and companies. Just make sure if you want to take Google internship that you are okay with burning bridges with Snapchat and it might mean you won't be considered for a FT position down the line
unfortunately, I can't move either to off-season. I tried. At this point I think I'll just have to decide between either. Yea, I agree I definitely do not want to burn bridges with Snap, so I'm just quite in a pickle and not sure what to do.
Snap full time lol thats funny
Google return offer isn’t guaranteed. Take snap if you’re certain about a full time return offer
Do you want return offer? If not, then Google.
Snap
Google, it’s not even a question
Renege on Snap for Google. It’s pretty normal and recruiters won’t bat an eye. Working at Google is fantastic for your network, and you can easily come back to Snap later if you want. Good luck!
