Women, help me understand why this is inspirational
I'm currently in Amazon in South Bay and recently my team's 2 most senior Devs left and now we're 4 (3 L5, 1 L4). The 3 L5s on my team (including me) are 2018 Q3/Q4 promos so we're all pretty new to the gig, but still capable. However, I highly value having "senior" L5s/L6s on my team that have YoE to guide us. I'm also seeing several people in my org leaving recently and my office/surroundings are very bleak. All that considered, I'm thinking about making a switch. I also moved from far away for this job and don't have many friends and feel like change of scenery can help. I'm considering 3 options. (TCT: 212K (144, 27.5, 40.5, actualized in Q4), 1.5 YoE, TT and my manager is looking for me to lead after downsizing) 1) Suck it up and stay. I have a great opportunity to work on a high impact project and contribute majorly. I can probably hit L6 in 2ish years with this kind of exposure. 2) Since I have pretty low YoE, but am a very capable engineer with great feedback/performance on record, doing an IT might be beneficial both in retaining my level (ie, not being hired as lower level) and higher comp. I'm interested in twitch + eSports in general so that's a plus. Also been thinking about moving to SF so it would help in that department. 3) Better off at another company even if I'm down leveled. Can also pretty much move wherever I want. But would I be able to get a better comp? Thanks all :)
