Think about it. While the world moved on to chrome and firefox, these people just sat on their asses!! No improvement, no major features, nothing! Happy New Year! My aim is to find next such product and slack off with the benefits for years to come.
Pretty sure they didn't just sit on their asses. Explorer, while not popular for regular consumers was widely used by enterprises. I've heard bits and pieces about this but it'd be great if someone from Microsoft can confirm.
bro please. any enterprise ticket must have been closed with 'no plan to implement'.
From what I've heard from an old boss of mine, the Skype team at Microsoft still exists and it's nothing but a personal project of 4-5 people who are passionate about it.
Cool!! bet they dont get any good refreshers?
What killed Internet Explorer was all the antitrust action around the turn of the century. Engineers and PMs didn’t want to work on a team where a good part of their day was talking to lawyers about ongoing litigation or clearing new features with legal. People transferred out. Development slowed. The rest is history.
They literally made Edge
Not necessarily the same team since they need people to maintain legacy stuff although most people probably moved there
Ahhh true
They’re getting PIP’d in a few months when it retires
lol pip in msft? 😂
