Junior year deciding between the companies in the title. Atlassian for 12 weeks, remote (can go into the office since its nearby), 45 + 3k stipend Pinterest for 12 weeks, remote, 9k a month (~56hr) Yext, nyc for 12 weeks, cant really disclose, but its hourly is between atlassian and pinterest with a stipend going to housing. The company I choose, I would like to go full time with. If I don't get the return offer or a new grad offer I like, then I guess resume value of the company is important. I care a lot about job security, TC, wlb, and the work I'll be doing in that order. All roles are either full stack or backend which is what I prefer. I also will probably want to work in person when I go full time. Any advice about the future outlook of these companies, how is the work life, should I care about the return offer rate of the internship (pinterest is lower than atlassian and yext)? I am really conflicted and would love some thoughts! Thanks!
Atlassian without a doubt, Pinterest revenue will drop significantly and hurt return offer chances
?? You posted this 23 minutes after earnings dropped. Huge win for PINS
Proved me wrong, kudos
Pinterest Eng is so much better than atlassian
Hi, sorry for random request but would you be able to refer me to a internship position at Pinterest? If so may i DM you Thanks
This shouldn’t even be a poll. Take Pinterest. Getting into Atlassian tier later on is not a challenge compared to the reverse. Also with TC and Impact it isn’t close
Hmm the poll results don’t indicate that its that much one sided.
Well it shouldn’t be imo. The only argument people are giving is stability, yet Atlassian still hasn’t shown they can be profitable. People here love to hate Pinterest because they’re different (audience, use case) My argument was more for opportunities to move afterwards though. Atlassian is more rest/vest and impact + scale will be smaller for early career. Also it simply isn’t as difficult to get into considering their hiring bar, I don’t see why not try the growth place for better opportunity
Atlassian. I’m not sure why those pin guys are so high about their eng team and think they are on a higher tier lol. Pinterests main audience are housewives and will become irrelevant in a few years
Probably coz of the scale.
Not sure about engineering quality but in terms of TC pins is one of the highest paying companies. Full time offers will be way higher than atlassian.
Pins return offer rate was scary this year, so I’d take that into consideration.
In this environment, go Atlassian
