BREAKING: Internal sources confirm another round of layoffs just hit emails at Tesla. For real.
Hi all, I'll be doing my first SWE internships back to back this winter and summer, and wanted to hear your two cents. Fwiw, I'll still be able to intern for another summer before graduating. I'm mostly looking for their weight on a resume, learning opportunity, good WLB, and full-time potential (more or less in this order). TC differences are negligible. Which option do you think will set me up for a better career? And lmk if I'm overlooking any important factors. In the poll, I put them in the order I would be doing them (i.e. winter -> summer). Thanks in advance! #dropbox #google #facebook #microsoft #amazon
How the frick did you manage to land these?
Either really good at coding for intern level or didn't land all or any them and was just wondering about relative prestige.
Yeah I'm really thankful for these! I can tell you they didn't come without a fair share of rejections though.
With all the votes for google, I wanted to know the rationale for picking it over dropbox. Since I'm already doing facebook, wouldn't dropbox provide a more valuable experience than google by giving a perspective on both "small" and big company cultures? Or does this diversity of experiences not bring enough value compared to the weight of having google over dropbox on my resume?
Internships are more about building your resume, to be completely honest. A little bit of feeling out what type of company you wanna be at too tho
google always wins these polls due to the sheer number of googlers here or google simps.
Why dat fuck would u even list amazon when u have other 3?
I'd do facebook for the opportunity and exposure to really cool scale and infra. Dare I say, google is almost too big now? Dropbox is 100% virtual which could also be a good experience since that future is upon us. Much smaller company to those 2, and the intern program is decent.
Facebook and Google.
