At DoorDash, everyone is expected to interview 3 candidates per week. I was starting an interview and doing my usual spiel. I said “We’ll do intros, I’ll ask a coding question, and then we’ll use whatever time is left for your questions about the company.” The candidate said “do you have Venmo? If you have Venmo, that’s really cool.” He kept talking about Venmo, then asked me what my “bar” was for Venmo. I didn’t give an answer. I can still change the interview feedback. What should I do?
..you should say the interviewee attempted to bribe you
How would that benefit any of us?
He prolly worked at Venmo before 🤷🏻♂️
Report the conversation to your HR folks and ask them how to proceed.
Setting all moral, legal and ethical standards aside, you bring up a good hypothetical question, what is your bar? 🤑💰

Nice username!
So the other interviews got paid

Take his Venmo, lose his number
Don't read too much into it
Ah amateur. Ask him to give the first number so you know the rough range he can flex to. Then target top of the band. Even better is if you can find another candidate who will also Venmo, and use that as negotiation leverage

Nice workaround after the stock crash.
Troll
I’m dead serious. He also mentioned cash app. I didn’t see the other interviewer make any notes about it however.
Just accept $ like the other interviewer. Most care about TC here anyway
