I have the first round interview coming up soon. Its going to be a digital interview with HireVue. Please share any advice that will help me ace this round . And then the next round with hiring manager. First time interviewing with Raytheon or any defense contractor. US Citizen. YOE 20.
It’s team dependent but yes it’ll mostly be behavioral for that level. With your YOE and experience it would mostly be how you manage teams, impact on a decision you made, cross functional leadership experience, how you grow a team, experience with direct reports, etc Early career engineers/individual contributors are asked some technical questions depending on the team here at Raytheon mostly on OOD, design principles, simple Linux commands etc
I would expect your basic questions. Also depends if it's a P6 or M6 (Individual Contributor vs Supervisor) on the type of questions. Assuming it's a M6 with direct reports then just expect more leadership styles questions. They don't usually put that many Defense industry specific questions on the HireVue interview. HireVue let's you record and attempt as many times as you want just don't accidentally submit the answer. With your experience you should be fine on the HireVue.
The job description says managing a team is involved. How do I find out if its P6 or M6
If you're managing that's an M6 (M for management)
I am a Sr. Manager who has interviewed for several ad roles. The good news is that it's more about your strategic vision and overall outlook on the potential work. The bad news is even if they love you they may go with someone who either is on the team already or has more experience. Had this happen to me twice last year. This isn't to dissuade you from doing the interview just letting you know that your experience being good enough to get you the interview may still get you beat out by another person. With 20yoe you should be pretty good though. Good luck!
The guys above know what they are talking about. Just do your best :)
Sounds like it’s an M6 role. Try to align your answers by the company core values and your sub organization’s values. Read up the company website and read about the products you will be managing as assoc dir. Be calm and collected and do your best! :)
Thank you
Thank you for all the responses from Raytheon and Collins Aerospace folks. I read the job description several times, this is clearly a people manager role (M6). However, the job description does not specify what products I will be managing as a Assoc Dir. The job description says ‘This is a new role and will be an integral part of the support of Digital Product Life Cycle Program and Operational Technology Connected Factory and Connected Operations. Develop roadmaps for enterprise data centers. Also it says that this role will be responsible for the collins lab environment. Appreciate if somebody can provide more details on this role.
I thought the digital interview using HireVue would be asking basic questions like ‘Tell me about yourself’ and ‘Why do you think you are suitable for this role’ etc. After I clicked through the website, it tells me that interview consists of 4 Video questions, 5 written responses and 12 Multiple choices. And estimated time is 45 minutes. What will the questions be for ‘written response’ and multiple choice? How do I prepare?
What is the TC to expect for an M6 role? Levels.fyi or glassdoor doesn’t have this data. Appreciate if you can also share breakdown for base, bonus and RSU . Its a remote role

Do people underestimate E6 role at meta?
It’s going to be super chill. Just have fun. Honestly, they might ask you about what’s on your resume but other than that nothing much. They’re not like tech companies that make you live code or ask very specific questions. FYI - I know this because I interviewed and got staff level gig at Lockheed. All these defense firms have the same interview process.
Really appreciate the insight gshak. This is a Associate director position reporting to Director of Infrastructure . So hopefully there shouldn’t be a coding round. But I dont want to take it too easy and botch it. Also I am going to be doing a digital interview for the first time(automated interview as first round). What kind of technical or non-tech questions are expected in the second or third rounds?
