Depending on the firm you can expect to have 10+ interviews. Replies after every round are quick in general. Leet Code mainly in early rounds. Expect brain teaser. So is c++ necessary? Can people with non c background join as well?
Apple: Modulo details—yes C++ is necessary. But it’s less the language itself and more knowing how to avoid writing hardware-hostile code. There are of course very “pure” quant research roles where all you write is Python (which incidentally is in these cases is just a thin DSL over C++/C/Fortran pieces)
