I just applied and got the next step to do an interview through their digital Hirevue app. As a UX designer with 5 years experience what can I expect the salary to be for someone living in Georgia? Can I also get any other details like how to prepare for interview or what the design culture is like? Also how pto there since I got family overseas.
You don't grow in State farm. It's a lame company run by 60 year old grand dad's. Old policies, old technology like mainframe, cobol. But job security is great. People like to stay in SF and do nothing. TC is not that high either. A pool boy was promoted to product manager in 20 years and later made business analyst due to bad performance.
This promotion thing is a serious problem. In my team we've had a bunch of pensioners that clearly were not meant for the role. I got a lot of hate from them because I was able to do work and they couldn't without a lot of handholding. I mean what am I supposed to do? I'm not paid enough to mentor people.
Definitely a boring ass company Base is probably gonna be around 90k to 100k For reference I make 97k tc as a new grad, but I’m a software engineer
I talked to my boss about getting a promotion to a new role and he just told me to work on my visibility. He's a great boss, but in reality the best way to get a promotion is to leave and come back. It will happen faster and you'll get more money... Plus you won't have to work as hard. I want to stay because of the WLB, but my kids aren't cheap so I'm gonna do what I need to for more money.
It's a creeky old ship. They are starting to outsource to HCL Technologies as well. That said, work/life balance is pretty nice. The interview will probably be the actual team your working with. I'd read the job description carefully.
Just remember to tell them at the end... If you hire me "🎵Like a good neighbor, I'll always be there 🎵"
