Fellow blinders - Are interviewers allowed to ask about internal tech stack or technologies you work on internally? What to say or how to answer such questions without revealing too much information about the tech stack? It may just be me getting paranoid about revealing information about the internal tools and technologies, however. What are the opinions of the community here? YOE: 4

I believe you can tell them some relevant things about that without getting into much details so that they can also know about your knowledge without even revealing much information.
Just tell them, it also provides a chance for them to interview how well their colleague understands their own stack and can communicate abstract concepts.
There's nothing wrong in interviewers asking this question.
You are not revealing things, you are not sharing your TC, I am afraid you are going to be GTFO.
Tech stack is a basic question. If you can't communicate what you're working on without disclosing secrets then you should work on your communication skills.
IMO just share without revealing confidential info using external-friendly terms like AWS-like hosting, OSS framework-like front/backend etc (and AWS-like attritions, not stack-related but you get the idea). If you think some details are too specific, just say so and divert to public examples. It's a conversation to gauge fit and let people deep dive into things. Most tech interviewers only want to see what you are capable of (provided both sides are honest), then compare notes since let's face it, if I'm hiring yet another CRUD app developer with 10 requests a day made to an ancient Java service and you are building web3.js apps, it might be awkward to proceed further...
Tech stack is not proprietary
Tech stack (and implementation for what matters) has literally zero value. A commodity, can almost pay per line of code. The actual IP is the collective intelligence that moves the business forward and can hold it when shit hits the fan.

Why would you not tell them? You’re not gonna get fired for telling some random interviewer that your companies crud app number 1028337 is built in java
