Interviewing @ Pinterest

How is pinterest as a company? How is its culture? Started interviewing for a few companies. Pinterest is one of them. How easy it is to crack the interview? Any inputs highly appreciated. TC 160K 3yoe

I interviewed a few weeks back and had a great experience, I could definitely sense that culture and WLB were taken very seriously. Interview was pretty easy for the SWE role I interviewed for as well and ended up with an L4 offer.

Nice congrats! I’ve been here a few years and it definitely wasn’t as difficult as FB,Google interviews

What were the on-site rounds like? Eg 2 coding rounds, 1 sys design etc

Def not as hard as google/FB interview. We are on a hiring sprint right now and are looking to hire a few hundred more eng in the rest of H2 and there are some concerns we could let quality slip in interviews to meet our hiring goals. As another commenter said there’s good WLB and the offers are competitive.

what is pinterest’s policy on remote work post pandemic? or is it still up in the air? (currently building a short list of companies to apply to and starting to prep for interviews)

Pinterest suezie Aug 7, 2021

We hadn’t reopened the offices but made it optional, at least until January 2022. Officially the company still has its foot in both doors: the hybrid model. Some people had started to go back in but with the delta variant that’s now not happening. Having said that it seems like internally remote work is what everyone wants.

Management is most incompetent you will find in SV. They just got lucky with stock due to pandemic which brought them extra users which are dropping as per recent earnings. Stock is already down 25% after earnings.

Yup despite record earnings for us 😭 the loss was because Wall Street didn’t like our lack of MAU growth. Which as you said, was expected due to Covid lockdowns ending.

You guys are lucky that covid revived the almost dead company and stock. Let's see how long you folks can sustain.
