I will be interviewing for HFT firms like JS, Citadel soon for SWE role and wanted to check if someone can share what type of questions were asked in algo round, and was algo round harder than a typical faang algo round? Interviewed at both asking with a few others. Yes for SWE, typically more difficult than just leetcode types. Same patterns but more involved. I was asked a bunch of low level programming as well because my resume has is, compiler and kernel knowledge
When you say "involved", what do you mean?
A normal FAANG interview is 1array, 1 graph/tree and 1 dp/backtracking question along with sys design. Hft interview was graph+dp+backtracking. Like the code forces/hacker rank types. Nothing difficult but combination of actual programming rather than LC
