I'm looking for a safe company to invest and I'm not looking for aggressive returns either. I want to invest money in stocks instead of savings account. Is Microsoft a safe bet short/long term?
I was thinking+- 10%....
Then your only stock choice might be mixture of some large cap dividend stocks. i.e. AT&T, J&J etc. Even SPY 500 can move more than 10% in shorter term... Or buy some bounds. If your marginal tax rate is high, some exempt bounds will be a good choice.
bonds..
Safe??? Never put all your money into 1 company. Go for etf like VGT or VOO or VTI
Makes sense
Why not invest in Amazon
I have enough stocks from Amazon... haven't sold any of my vests thus far
Your investment should spread in all the Markets not just Tech..Try invest in multiple companies, Don't target single company

What do you consider safe and what do you consider long term? I usually consider 30% downside/30% upside in short term (3-5 years) as safe. So yes Microsoft is fairly safe. So are Apple, FB and Google. Long term, IMO is 10 to 20 years. Yes Microsoft should be very safe here but I would watch for leadership and direction changes.
