Hi , I am looking for investing in high dividend paying stocks as prices are lucrative. Please let me know your thoughts about : xom (exxonMobile) oxy boeing. It is difficult to time market and I have decided to invest in small amounts just in case it further goes down I still have money to invest. Any other high dividend stocks you recommend ? No troll please. EDIT: Thanks for suggestions. Would not be considering BA anymore. Already got into WFC and ATT. Considering GM, IBM .. any suggestions ? Looking for long term (15+ year investment). Dividend yield should be 6-10% and market cap 20B+. So even if there is a significant drop in shares, i will still even out due to dividends for 15 years. But normally most of non tech high dividend stocks do not have high appreciation but around 5-10% over 5-10 years approx.
Buy VYM and dollar cost average
Thanks , looks like 2.5 per year and 65 price. so 4% not that bad.
SCHD
There’s an ETF for high dividend stocks. I wouldn’t bet on single stocks personally. Some of them may drop to 0.
100% sure xom, ba will cut dividend. Not familiar with oxy but sounds like they are in energy so 99.9% sure they will cut too.
Yeah BA already announced and XOM is in negative territory if they pay dividend
Boeing is suspending dividend
what about long term. I believe China (worst hit by corona) recovered in 2-3months. I think US will recover in a month considering it is not as severe as China. Things will get back to normal and we will enter the bull run again. People will start travelling and spending and all companies will be in profits. Won't that be same with Boeing ? wont it reach 350-400$ mark again?
😂
All those stocks are under huge stress at this time. See the dividend of GE.
I’m looking at EQR and ESS. I don’t know what could possibly go wrong with residential REIT. SPG is also interesting if you believe this virus will be under control in a couple months.
Invest in an ETF. Why bet on 1 company when you can invest in 100? VYM, VIG, SDY or SPYD.
How about Wells Fargo (WFC)?
Well, during y2k and gfc (great financial crisis), there were a lot of high dividend paying companies. Guess where they are now?
Companies i mentioned are large market cap companies. They wont go anywhere. Besides US economy heavily depends upon export of aircrafts, crude oil and it is unlikely that these sectors will get destroyed. I am not targeting small companies which may run out of their reserves and die due to corona.
Lol you haven’t been around last 2 bubbles have you? Lehman, Washington mutual, Nortel, MCI, Enron, GM, etc. These were large cap too! I am sure BA much like GM during gfc will be considered too-big-to-fail. I am also sure the stock will be so diluted with US govt as a major investor that it will be flat much like GM for long time.
