⓵ Management Consulting at McKinsey ➊ Location: NYC, Financial District ⓶ Investment Banking at Evercore ➋ Location: NYC, Midtown East ⓷ Venture Capital at Citi Ventures ➌ Location: NYC, Chelsea which one would you pick and why? I’m interested in each of these career paths almost equally… (apologies again for the repost - my Blind mobile app will just not let me access the results of any poll I post, so I’m trying on my desktop this time)
Is this new college grad level? If you ever want to go to bschool then consulting. If you want to do finance then evercore. Junior level VC is a shitty job most of the time.
Would you mind elaborating a bit the VC thing you said? How is it shitty? Don't really know a lot about their(VC's) work and would like to know more
Junior level vc is all sourcing. You just search for companies that might be good to invest in but don’t actually participate in investing. Theres also no visible promotion path to gp

You are asking the wrong forum for this. 99% of the people here have never heard of evercore and don’t know that it pays much more than anything in tech (minus quant)
huh? evercore is considered like a tier 3 IB, it’s constsntly memed for long hours and crap pay and no prestige. IB < faang. what are you talking about?
Would be funny on wso. Noone gets your joke here. 1 meme on how its like faang, hired too much and diluted talent + hiring too many laterals from no name background but doesn’t change their pay that exceeds faang at asso+
Bschools are still like consultants? Don’t the admissions committees read blind? The circles with the numbers inside - now that’s prestigious!
What do you want to do? Prestige wise McKinsey with b school down the line. Money wise Evercore? If you want to do VC work then go with that. Other than that, a SWE at a faang level trumps all.
