Hello Blinders! First , to clarify, I know this a rookie question, and I might be late in starting to think about this. What are some good starting points for me to research investment alternatives like Mutual Funds, ETFs for a starting investment of $50,000? I have invested in real estate in two countries and dont want to go more into that, I do use robinhood for stocks and some crypto, but would also love to know what are some good places to educate myself on other investment options. Are robo advisors like wealthfront/vanguard digital advisor any good? Is that a good starting point and researching parallelly? I know the opinion that financial advice on blind isnt the best thing, but just wanted to know what the community thinks! #investments #stockmarket #mutualfunds
If you are rookie, do roboadvisor and forget
Very, very, very, very difficult to beat market. Vangaurd ETFs are your friend π
and this is coming from someone working or used to work for hudson river πππ
Schwab funds a cheaper if you look at expense ratio for market index funds
bogleheads
QQQ or IVV or blend
100% VFIAX index mutual fund
100% VTSAX here
100% ITOT (Fidelity) or VTI (Vanguard)
Any recommended investing service for these? Not sure I want to do this with Robinhood.
Again Schwab has the best rates and easy UI. I switched after hating Vanguards mistakes multiple times.
Thanks everyone for the responses. I can see ETF recommendations, any mutual fund suggestions? And whats the best app/investment service to get to these. Not sure I want to put big amounts through robinhood.
Expense ratios will favor ETFs over mutual funds. With that being said Vanguards Schwab and others will offer similar versions of index ETFs in mutual fund form as well.

To start with, it doesnβt matter at all how much you invest in financial instruments, unlike real estate. So please keep 50k to yourself. Itβs all practically infinitely divisible, so it all comes down to ratios. Honestly you cannot learn without trying yourself so start with buying and holding some companies that you like such as AMD, TSMC Apple you name it
