Is Amazon Alexa dying?
Amazonians, please help I got an offer from a company/startup that makes apps/skills for Alexa. Is it a wrong time to join them since Amazon is cutting Alexa team and potentially Alexa will die or fade out? #Alexa #tech #Echo #Banana

If they’ve figured out how to make money then go for it. Alexa isn’t dying it was a massively bloated division that’s now only slightly bloated.

I'm in Alexa AI and can assure you that it's still massively bloated. The monetization potential is non-existent for Alexa and it will soon face an inevitable death.
Are those Alexa skills the company makes profitable or brand-enhancing? I tend to think Alexa is stalled re further development, but maybe there is a niche market for skills developers.
Working for Alexa internally or externally is very risky. Stay away if you can.
Any specific reason that you can share?
There is no path to profitability even after 9 years of launching the product. It is Amazon’s Metaverse. Probably doomed.
My 4 Alexa speakers are up for grab. I've only used it to get weather information. Hope this helps :)
