If this is already discussed, please share the link. Are there any data transmission (like some numerical/guid sort of person identifier) in client-server communication that could be used to track people's chat together irrespective of their Blind Display Name changing over time? I understand it won't still display who people really are, but looking at someone's chat can disclose a pattern, and maybe overtime an inference could be made? Am I being too melodramatic? Or scared for no reason? Help me here, to understand the communication mechanism.
Bro like just change your username everyday
Yes, Anand
I don't think Anand would care, looks to be Srini.
the personalization is shit, which is probably proof that it’s pretty anonymous
Well you should give your company email for registration and company has your ssn and gov has all gps from phone and all bank transactions and your pron preferences and swipes and dna if you give it somewhere and teeth xray image. So you have nothing to worry about everything is under control;)
🤣😂👍
I think the key question is “What are you afraid of and why?” If you are an ordinary cog in a huge machine, chances are you are not as important for the company to worry about. Unless you share real important company trade secrets, why would the company care about you and track here? And if you share huge company secrets on Blind, well, don’t do it. The only time I can think of it might be an issue is if someone you know and work with figures out who you are and gives you a hard time unofficially. For example a coworker finds you and rats you out to your manager for dissing him. If the manager is not a mature person, they may make it their life mission to see you out. But then again, maybe it is for the better. Maybe it was not a good fit to begin with. Otherwise, just because a Meta employee says Zuck’s pet project is trash, or an Apple employee voices opinion against RTO or a Google guy says G Cloud is doomed does not necessarily warrant the curse of the powers that be. It is an opinion and everyone has them. No biggie.
It’s internet:) Once it is out there it’s there for ever no matter what other people / companies say :)
