I applied to over 595 applications so far in tech in the last 11 months. I got automated rejections from 171. Applied to 150 jobs in retail stores etc and got 49 rejected. Landed 3 technical interviews only in tech so far but failed due to some reasons. Spoke to 34 HR and just 3 got back to me rest went to hell. 😁 Any suggestions? Any guidance? For context, my resume is all good and I am using LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor and some other platforms. My tech stack: Ruby, Rails, Javascript, ReactJS. Also, do I need to do more leetcode or project development? TC: unemployed Edit: Software development experience of around 7 years outside Canada. #canada
That is the problem, your tech stack, go with something older like C#/Java Everybody and their dog is doing React, and/Or the most popular JavaScript framework of the day. And, don't limit yourself to tech companies, many non tech businesses are also hiring developers for their in-house software
Oh thats insane….!! I should do some certifications first? But again without experience nobody gonna give me chance for the interview either….
Every single job I had so far, I got by having something to demo. Having something to show says way more about you than a piece of paper that says you can do something.
US market is worse.
Yeah heard the exact same thing…..
Lemme guess, you have an immigrant last name. Recruiters are racist
Really is that a case???? Yeah my name contains Muhammad as first name btw….. N I am immigrant…..
Oh yeah 100%. They only shortlist western looking names, unless the recruiter is an immigrant
Send me your resume if you want. We're still looking for a Ruby and React fullstack dev.
If you don't mind, can you please share the name of company? Is it based in Canada?
Can't share it publicly. No it’s based in US but we’re hiring across North/South America
New grad? Any previous experience?
Sorry, edited the post. I have Software development experience of around 7 years outside Canada.
