I still see a lot of job offers from Cruise, whats the situation inside. Are you seeing any layoffs?
Next CSCO. Cruise will be 1st company in this round of downturn to hit 90% layoff
Argo AI already beat them to it with 100% layoffs.
100%?? Whut!!!!?? This is new record for speed and %
I sure hope not. But looking back to 2020, it seems unlikely that they don’t use this as an opportunity, foolish as it may seem right now.
They laid people off in 2020 if I recall, so they would do it again easily
If they were to downsize, they first step is to stop hiring, but I see quite the contrary. It seems they have funding and trying to steam through.
Definitely still hiring but can use cover of layoffs to 86 low performers
That saying I have absolutely no idea so this is just a theory. 🤷♂️
Brings me back to 2020
I don't see any layoffs at cruise. The company has a good runway in terms of funding. We are going to launch many many more cars next year and the leadership team is pretty confident of the rapid scaling. We have a solid plan to become profitable in the next few years. So I'm not worried about layoffs
Every startup has plans to become profitable until they run out of money. Argo is a perfect example. What data do we have on the commitment GM is making to see this through. If their primary business is running hot due to recession they will first take the knife to Cruise as it is bleeding money.
It’s really difficult to comment on startups doing layoffs. We don’t know their burn rate, we don’t know their ARR, we don’t know their churn, we don’t know their growth rate, etc.
Infinite growth don’t worry
Churn is only for existing customers. We don’t have many :-). Sorry to burst your bubble
No layoffs yet. Many people in the company seem to think cruise is 100% safe. I remain cautious and skeptical of that. Only time will tell...
