Is D.E. Shaw good company to work in terms of career growth and learning opportunities in tech?
I have spent around ~2.5 years in D.E. Shaw. Liked working here but haven't worked on impacting projects which impact the public in general. Also, WLB is not that great. I take it as hustling to see benefits in the long run but not sure if I am thinking wrong. Should I consider staying here or switch to some other company? Need genuine suggestions? As someone who's worked in the same group for a long time, it's a great firm to start your career but move on to faang and other tech companies soon. You'll learn a lot more, especially about cloud and distributed systems if you have interest in that.
What is the yearly hike they give ? Also, what's your TC ?
Though I am not complaining about TC. I just wanted a general opinion on career growth in the tech field. I will update my TC.
