Friend referred me to FB. I went through every software engineering posting they have in the United States. Couldn’t find a single one that didn’t require very domain specific knowledge (experience building compilers, iOS programming, etc) or required fewer than 4 years of experience. Unlike Google, they don’t appear to have a generic “software engineer” position unless I’m missing something
Ask your referral coordinator for generalist position. That is equivalent to general swe outside. Also, yes they seem to be hiring only seniors 5+ yoe in general.
My referral selected the option to let me choose the position. I do not see any generalist position on the FB careers page
Just choose whatever and then you can talk to the recruiter afterwards. But yes fb has been hiring for e5 and above only since the start of this year...
fb is only hiring intern, new grad and 5+ yoe engs. in some months, when there are plenty of hc, 5+ may not apply if you are a good match
Thanks. Didn’t know this
When do you think new hc will be available for E4?

Cleared Amazon onsite, but lowballed.
They have generic positions like SWE - full stack, SWE - ML, SWE - mobile, etc. Just don’t apply for specialist positions cuz those are 5+ YOE.
There are some “generalist” positions like infrastructure or product, but it looks like all require 5+ yoe
