I am happy at Google (great manager, perks, wlb). I think the industry no longer views Google as a desirable place to work for (on Blind). What are some recommended companies that I should target after Google.

Google is very desirable
How about Zillow, I heard good things about them pre pandemic.
Apple? Still desirable but not god anymore, maybe a bit less desirable than some
What do you mean by “good”? It’s a paycheck.
Oversimplified, and frankly, ignorant way to look at it. Benefits and wlb matter a lot. On paper Amazon was paying the most during 2021-2022 but in reality you were effectively getting more at say G or MSFT due to less hours worked, monetary perks such as ESPP, better healthcare, fitness reimbursement, student loan reimbursement, better 401k matching etc There is much more to it than just the number on the paycheck.
Let me add one more. You spend quarter to half a day on an average at your workplace. That’s the time of your life you’re never gonna get back. One of the factors is how much you smile during your work. You may get a paycheck and all, but if you’re gloomy most of the time in your office(minimum interaction with peers, fed up of office politics etc)… that’s not ideal
Yes
Wtf is wrong with people’s perception of the world.
These days any shitty startup is also desirable. U just need job these days
I think this mentality is good, it allows people to join google and the like when ppl leave and these companies need to hire their replacements.
