Mainly interested in Intel RR campus for SWE. Willing to relocate if needed; not even sure if any hardware companies are hiring. Experience: Official experience: SWE: 3YOE (no name companies) Semi official: EE: 1YOE, EE QA on public ultities when needed, overlapping with SWE experience. Unofficial: 1YOE: (paid the most so far) standby consultant with music startup in Colorado 1YOE: academic research (unpaid) using EE & silicone photomultipliers to apply to envriomental engineering for water conversation. Education: BS EE/CE/ECE Guess I'm a bit lost. I'd say total YOE is 4 overall. I am welcome criticism or advice. Am open to considering, if needed, pursuing an MS in CE/EE. Most of my experience in CE, I can't list on my resume since no W2's. IME EE/CE work pays more than SWE which seems to dramatically differ from Blind says. I am interested in switching back to CE officially as a career path. TC: 0 #tech #hardware #engineering #jobopening #intel #nvidia #nvidiacareers #amd
Nvidia is hiring actively, amd is hiring but not too many, intel is mostly on hiring freeze but still hires on demand and need basis
If you are in for a fab related job… they are hiring a decent amount. They are even standing up new teams and locations related to this. In genera the pay on the fab side is better (for the type of work) than other comparavle areas in intel…. But, work life is not the same (wfh is not as tolerated if at all and much more pressure).
Do yourself a favor and don’t even apply at Intel if you can avoid it. If you can’t avoid it, then join with the intention of leaving as soon as possible. You can thank me later.
Agreed, EE/CE part of my career with ultities was working with Nvidia hardware. Interviewed with US companies a bit and they were actively trying to avoid Nvidia products due to being cheap af, even though they had heavy RAM requirements even though Jetson Xavier is no problem with it 🙃. When I got laid off and traveled, 2nd country simply considered Nvidia Microcomputer hardware as industry standard... Seriously am open to criticism. Mind if I DM you resume as is? Trying to avoid Intel but not hating on Intel at the same time, not a bad company considering they include exclusive doctors for employees on most campuses. Edit: is Nvidia on hiring freeze?
Intel doesn’t pay well and it’s a very poorly run company. Simple as that.
