Age : 27 Current TC :150k I have Masters in Data Science. If I get in either Wharton, Stanford or Harvard should I pursue it? I am not your out and out tech guy. I cannot build my own Machine Learning libraries but I can very well apply on different financial models and make a good analysis of the given data. Now I feel if I continue where I am today I can break a million per annum package by late 40s or early 50s Smooth sailing track and a secured life mostly But if I take a MBA now when I am single, have paid off all my student and car debt I feel that could add a great value to me and learn few things here and there. With 3 YOE in data analytics coupled with a MBA from an elite school will open more doors and I always wanted to go into product roles, more financial tech based and this will help me immensely. But it might add a 25-30k student debt cause the rest can come from my savings. Now I have a suggestion of doing a Part Time MBA but I absolutely don’t like it if I go back to school it has be done properly but I will definitely do a Part time job. What do you’ll think? #tech #mba #salaries #tech
You don’t need an MBA to transition into product or fintech
OP are you Indian?
I am not but I grew up around alooooooot of Indians. I am not sure if you this or not in NJ we have big Indian communities here. Love them
You will not get into HSW MBA without elite work experience, just as an fyi
Lol. Bruhh… I smell entitlement. Just MS in Data doesn’t get you Wharton and MBA doesn’t give you million per year.
I never said that I will get into these schools based on my Masters never
Read your first paragraph.
What's the goal or what are you looking for after MBA? For product roles or fin tech based roles, you don't need MBA from M7. You need to aim high value to squeeze on the money you spent. Dm me, I am in a similar place in my life too. We need to talk to mentors on how we can get the best value

If you can get into a FAANG and then network hard while you're there you get 80% of the benefits of an MBA while being paid instead is paying. It takes about as much time and effort to apply to and interview with 4 MBA programs as it does to interview with top companies. Context - have friend at who is an L5 Google, she turned down a HSW MBA. Google hires MBAs at L4, she'd likely need to take a pay cut off she got the degree. Also traditional tech roles for MBAs got gutted. Go on Reddit, consulting is laying off people like crazy and product management as a career has been gutted.
Which reddit thread is it? I only find McKinsey and BDO had layoffs but the rest are all fine
anything outside of the top 5 b schools is a waste of time. you can stretch that to top 7, but def don’t go to any shit school past the number 10 mark
Ask this question once you have offers. With this profile, doubt you can get in. You need HYPMS undergrad + IB/MBB/FANNG exp
Masters in data science 🤡
What is wrong with that 😂
Might as well get a degree from a for profit school like U of Phoenix.
