Is Musk intentionally tanking Twitter?

Recently saw Twitter slashed parental leave benefits from 20 weeks to just 14 days... Given all that he's done since his $44B impulse buy, I seriously have to wonder at this point: is Musk intentionally trying to tank Twitter??? Good luck attracting & retaining any decent talent with that move... Why anyone would want to work for a guy that seems to take pride in being one of the worlds most foremost corpo-douchebags & interweb edgelords is seriously beyond me...#twitter

Dude, you work for Amazon. Have many seats

Amazon Jackの永遁走状態 OP May 9, 2023

Aye. And yet even we get 20 weeks of paid parental leave. Go figure.

Not if you don’t have a job

H1B and L1s there are trapped so he’ll always have people to help the service survive.

Yahoo MAWD32 May 9, 2023

Nobody is trapped, you made a choice

Microsoft bgtypo May 9, 2023

choice? To be jobless or to stay back and protect visa status…. I mean was it even a choice?

The irony of OP working at Amazon when it’s far worse here.

Amazon Jackの永遁走状態 OP May 9, 2023

I'm not trying to praise Amazon in the slightest, but Christ, even we get at least 20 weeks paid parental leave...

Amazon fufur May 9, 2023

Almost every single employee at Amazon is below the bottom of the band for their role right now. By 20-30%. Meanwhile all of Twitter 2.0 got their stock packages honored at $54. Its not better here, even for new parents.

Well he got Tucker now.

Nobody spends 44B to tank a company. His reputation rests on being able to turn the company around

Probably started believing his own hype.

I had no paid maternity leave when I was having my daughters two decades ago and almost no company offered paternity leave. I believe the standard now is 12 weeks but many smaller companies still don't offer much. With so many people looking for work, parental benefits don't rank very high compared to health insurance and 401K matching.

No he's just stupid, you don't have to bend over backwards to defend him Also he won't have trouble getting talent, there's enough people that will line up to kiss his ass

Twitter LMqd00 May 10, 2023

It was rumored 2 weeks but it’s actually minimum 12 weeks parental leave. As far as “tanking Twitter”, he’s doing the opposite. Picture this: with live-streaming and move towards more video content, SpaceX material will be exclusively on Twitter. The mars mission, which will be the most watched event in history, will be live-streamed exclusively on Twitter. Twitter will be 10x the $44b he paid, and I’m not selling my shares.

Google LOAD "*",8 May 10, 2023

Bet you $5 Twitter will be dead before there's a mars mission. Also I'm curious how Elon will respond to lunar landing deniers also denying the mars landing.

Twitter LMqd00 May 10, 2023

Haha it’s on. I thought Twitter was supposed to be dead by now? Instead, user growth and engagement has been at an all-time high. Twitter is not going anywhere.
